In second chapter named “Your Trusted Friends”
of the book “Fast Food Nation” Author Eric Schlossers show us the real picture
behind the sale motives of all franchises fast food and beverages companies. He
briefly explain about two founder of MacDonald’s Ray Kroc and Walt Disney how
they were similar and competitor in business field and real life. They were
like magician about convince customer. Both of them had dropped school but they
had excellent knowledge about technology. Even they were great politician that
they use in Nixon time to raise the prices. In 1980’s these growing companies
new target were kid’s customer. These two company have adapted vicious marketing
scheme. One marketing expert called era of 1980’s the decade of the child
customers. These companies researched on the child psychology and took
advantage of their innocent mind. They invested millions of money for
advertisements that attract all customer specially kids that make them to go
far with huge profit and take the next steps. They make business deal with
school not caring about young health. Children are targeted from early ages of
2 and 3. These companies guarantee to be “Your Trusted Friends” aims at profiting
from “Cradle to Grave” these chapter show us the dark side behind the motive of
the multinational fast food companies.
